Nylon is the first synthetic fiber in the world. Mixture or twist with other fibers like cotton would yield the stronger fiber. Nylon is sturdy, flexible, elastic, and durable against friction. It also possesses high reactivity, which leads to the ease of chemical processing. A silk-like polish surface is seen and very durable, but fragile in heat. It is utilized widely in stocking ("nylons"), bathing suit, sport clothing, and so forth. Especially nylon 66, which is more durable against heat, is used as a material for car airbags. |
